Travis Denning provides wedding planning update and reveals star-studded guest list | New
The wedding bells are set in the near future of Travis Denning and his fiancée Madison Montgomery.
The “Dirt Road Down” singer recently sat down with “Taste Of Country Nights” host Evan Paul to discuss the wedding planning. Denning revealed they would be getting married in May 2023.
With a date set in stone, the country couple sent out the exclusive invites and some of the genre’s hottest stars made the cut.
“I don’t even know if anyone has confirmed yet, but I invited TJ and John Osborne,” he revealed before naming other notable names on the guest list. “I love these guys so much, and Madison is really close with TJ’s boyfriend. And I invited Cole Swindell over. I’ve known Cole for so many years, so there’s a couple.”
Denning continued to prank, giving a friendly nod to his bride-to-be’s father.
“Plus, I think John Michael Montgomery will be there,” the chart-topping artist laughed.
While many newlyweds prefer live music at their reception, Denning confirmed that Madison has booked a DJ. The decision seemed like a no-brainer for the bride, as she was trying to avoid having family or friends take the mic.
“She didn’t want live music, no live band, she just wants to DJ,” Denning told the outlet. “She’s like, ‘The last thing I want for my wedding is one of my family members to sing.’ I said, ‘You got it!’ She was like, ‘I’ve had enough of this. Let’s all go together.'”
Although Denning had a deep love for music and performing, he was enthusiastic about his choice. In fact, he said it was a “dream come true” to have the night off and not sing for once.
Denning got down on one knee in October last year and proposed to his longtime girlfriend in marriage. The proposal took place in New York’s Central Park.
“You might want to swipe right and see that ring finger…#SheSaidYes,” he wrote on social media following the fairytale-worthy proposal.
Their love story is told in her single “Buy a Girl a Drink”, which is included on her recently released EP, “Might As Well Be Me”. The confessional ballad explains that a simple act of kindness like offering someone a drink can turn into something sentimental.
“Give a girl a drink, talk to her all night | Call her three days later, kiss her under the porch light | Go meet her mom and dad on Labor Day weekend | Catch her the hell out of your buddies ’cause you’re in the deep end | Buy a ring, get married, honeymoon on an island | Raise babies then look back smiling | From a rocking chair, man, I swear that you’ll be there as fast as you can blink | Just buy a girl a drink,” he sings.
Denning wrote “Buy a Girl a Drink” alongside critically acclaimed songwriters Jeremy Stover, Paul DiGiovanni and Chase McGill. The collection includes five other earworms such as “Red Round Here”, “Don’t Give A Truck”, “She’s On It”, and more. While planning a knee-deep wedding, the up-and-coming entertainer is also on tour with country sensation Dierks Bentley. Tickets for upcoming shows are available for purchase here.
